  • What is the website for testing?

  • Will my assigned tests or ID expire?
    ID and passwords do not expire. In general tests do not expire. However, check with your company to makes sure there is not an internal deadline for your testing.
  • Does it matter when I take the tests?
    Tests are available on the site any day or time (24/7). Proctored tests If doing live proctoring, get with your company contact to make sure there is not a specific time needed for testing. If online proctoring via Gracor & ProctorFree, tests can be taken any time.
  • How do I know how many tests I have to take?
    On your HOME Dashboard screen, first screen you see when you log in, you will see all tests assigned to you on the left side of the screen. You need to take ALL of the tests that appear to have completed all your testing.
  • Do the tests have a time limit?
    In general tests have a one (1) hour time limit per test. However, check with your company to makes sure there is not an internal timeline they are imposing on your testing.
  • Can I use a dictionary or Google translate?
    No outside tools or aids (digital or hardcopy) may be used during any tests. Examples: dictionaries, online browsing, recording devices, translation software, etc.
  • Which internet browser should I be using?
    Chrome is the recommended browser for Gracor test site. Edge can be used for Reading, Writing and Translation tests but can provide problematic for verbal tests (LS and INT) Firefox can be used on for Reading, Writing and Translation tests but only the most recent version of Firefox should be used for verbal tests (LS and INT). Internet Explorer, Safari, and some versions of FireFox, do not currently support certain security and recording features and should not be used for testing.
  • Can I use my Smartphone or Tablet for testing?
    Smartphones cannot be used for testing. Tablets can be used if your company has requested it. Please confirm with your manager, supervisor or recruiter prior to trying to test with a tablet.
  • I have poor internet where I am. What do you recommend?
    You should have a reliable, solid and preferably fast internet connection for testing. To test with a poor connection can cause your connection to dropped, broken while testing and/or interrupt uploads resulting in the need to redo tests, corrupted audio files and/or difficulty in or skipped uploading audio files (for verbal testing). If your current location does not provide a reliable internet connection, wait until you are in a location that has one.
  • How many times can I replay the audio?
    Listening & Speaking: Each question may be listened to two (2) times (initial plus one rewind). Interpretation tests: Each statement may be listened to two (2) times (initial plus one rewind). ATP Tests: Passages 1 and 2 should listened to one time (no rewinding). Passages 3, 4, and 5 may be listened to two times (initial plus one rewind).
  • How do I replay the audio on LS, INT, ATP tests?"
    Once the recording is playing grab the progress circle & drag back to the begging.
  • How do I record INT and LS tests?
    Prior to testing make sure your microphone is ON and if prompted, you allow your microphone permission to recording on the Gracor Test site. In General: Listen to each question/statement using the audio player in each section When you are finished listening to the statement, hit the “Record My Answer” button. Hit the Stop icon when you are finished speaking Then hit the “Upload” button. Repeat these steps for all 10 questions. Click the Submit button when finished with all statements. Be Patient. Depending on your internet connection speed this may take some time. Note: detailed instructions appear before each test to help guide you in recording.
  • Do I need a microphone and camera to take the INT and LS tests?
    You need a microphone for INT and LS tests. Be sure it is turned on, unmuted and on a high volume. When prompted by your browser “allow” or “Give Permission” to the site to access your microphone. You need a camera on only if your test is being Proctored.
  • I see multiple listings for Reading tests, do I need to take all of these Reading tests?"
    Yes, you need to take all tests that appear on your HOME Dashboard. Reading tests come in sets of two (2) or three (3) components per language. All components assigned must be taken to complete a Reading test.
  • Tips
    Once you begin a test do not hit Refresh or Reload on any test page. You will lose all your answers and the test timer will not restart, so you will have less time to complete the test. When doing audio tests, during uploads do not hit any other key or move away from the page. Depending on your connection speed the files can take some time to upload. Use a computer or laptop for optimum testing experience. A tablet may be used if allowed by your company, please check with them prior to testing.
  • What is an Audio Translation Performance (ATP) test?
    An Audio Translation Performance (ATP) test is a series of audio recordings being read in a target language which are transcribed into written English. These recordings are based in content and subject matter to the target region and are different styles of verbal communication (reports, phone conversation, radio announcement, reading passages, etc.). Each passage gets harder in nature based (vocabulary, content and syntax). There are pauses, background noises, and fluctuation of speech also involved in the recordings.
  • What is an Interpretation (INT) test?
    An Interpretation test is a series of recorded statements in one language which then are interpreted into another language and recorded. The statements get harder in nature (vocabulary, content and syntax) and factors such as word choice, register, style, additions or omissions, command of delivery, fluency, etc., all are needed to accurately convey the spoken language of the statements into another language in the recording.
  • What is a Listening & Speaking (LS) test?
    A Listening and Speaking test is a series of recorded questions in one language which then are answered in the same language and recorded. The questions get harder in nature (vocabulary, content and syntax) and the recorded answers should follow the same level of difficulty. Factors such as word choice, register, style, command of delivery, fluency, etc. are needed for the dialog-like response.
  • What is a Reading (R) test?
    A Reading test contains two or three individual passages which are read and then multiple-choice questions are answered. The passage and the questions are all in the same language. The questions range in difficult from easy to more thought-provoking (based on vocabulary, content, etc.). The answers to the questions are all found within the information in the passage that has just been read.
  • What is a Translation (T) test?
    A Translation test contains a passage which is read in one language and then translated into another. The passage contains many elements (vocabulary, content and syntax) and factors such as word choice, register, style, additions or omissions, grammar, fluency, etc., which are all needed to be used to accurately convey the message and intent of the passage from one language into another.
  • What is a Writing (W) test?
    A Writing test contains a series of questions in one language and which are answered in the same language. The questions get harder in nature (vocabulary, content and syntax) and the answers should follow the same level of difficulty. Factors such as word choice, grammar, etc. should all be considered in the answering response.
  • I’m logged in but when I click on a test in the Dashboard list nothing happens. What’s going on?
    Are you on a Smartphone? While you can log into your account from a Smartphone, you cannot take tests. Are you on a Tablet? Depending on your company you may not be allowed to take Reading, Writing or Translation tests from a tablet. Please check with your supervisor, recruiter or department head who asked you to take the test. No tests requiring recording, such as Interpretation, Listening/Speaking or ATP, can be taken from a tablet.
  • When I login it puts me in a test, not my home Dashboard, what do I do?"
    When you enter into an open test that means you had not completed the test and hit submit, or walked away while the test was still active. You need to complete the test before you can get back to the Dashboard and begin another test.
  • I started one test but want to do a different test first. What do I do?
    Once you start a test it must be completed before another test can start. The system will not allow you to jump between tests.
  • I was testing, left between tests and now my screen shows an error with no tests. What happened to the test I was on?"
    Make sure you do not have the Test site open on any other Tabs in your browser. Hit HOME (upper Left corner of your screen). This will bring you to your Dashboard. Or LOGOUT by clicking on your NAME on the upper Right corner of your screen to see the LOGOUT option. Then log back in and you should be back to your Dashboard.
  • I am getting an ERROR message. What do I do?
    Make sure you do not have the Test site open on any other Tabs in your browser. Hit HOME (upper Left corner of your screen). This will bring you to your Dashboard. Or LOGOUT by clicking on your NAME on the upper Right corner of your screen to see the LOGOUT option. Then log back in and you should be back to your Dashboard. If doing the above does not bring you back to your Dashboard where you can begin testing, please email testsite@gracor.us Include your user ID, name of the test, your operating system, browser, and if possible, a screen shot of the problem/error message
  • Something may have happened to my internet or browser while submitting my test.  Is everything ok?
    Is the test still open on your screen? If yes, then the test was not submitted. Simply complete the test again and hit submit. If no and you are back on your Dashboard, then your test was submitted.
  • Who can I contact if I have a problem with the online testing?
    If you are experiencing a problem with the online system you can contact: testsite@gracor.us Include your user ID, name of the test, your operating system, browser, and if possible, a screen shot of the problem/error message.
  • Who can I contact to ensure my results were received?
    Once you hit submit your test results were received and there is no need to followup. If you are concerned or wish to doublecheck (in case something that happened within your computer system or connection), contact your company manager, supervisor or recruiter.
  • How long until the system times out?
    If you leave a test page or Dashboard up and have no activity on the page(s) it will time out when your computer goes into Sleep mode or after one (1) hour of inactivity. As long as you are actively engaged in the site (clicking on questions, typing, going into the different tests, scrolling, etc.) the site will not time out.
  • How do I know I am finished with all my tests?
    You will receive a message saying all your tests are completed when you finish the last test, and/or, On your dashboard there are no more tests listed.
  • How do I get my results?
    Your manager, supervisor or recruiter, from the company that asked you to test, will provide you with your results. Note: if you are testing independently, i.e., no company requested your testing, the results will come to you by a Gracor representative within 24 - 48 hours.
